Musings of a Mom…

Aldi’s

Find one and run there as fast as you can!  Deals are abundant if you don’t mind their brand of the items!  $1.29 gallons of milk, $0.45 dozen eggs, $1.49 32 oz. spaghetti noodles, $0.35 boxes of macaroni & cheese, $0.89 16 oz. bags of frozen veggies, $0.75 hamburger and hot dog buns, $4.49 for 10-lb. bag of white rice…and more!  I know you can get better deals, but these are their regular prices.  Oh, and you’ll need a quarter to rent the shopping cart and bring your own shopping bags and be prepared to bag the items yourself!

Consistency is key (disciplining children)

So, I have a 5 year (and 12 and 14 year olds, too, but this pertains mostly to the 5 year old).  But I have learned that consistency is it.  Whatever you choose to use as a means for disciplining your children, be CONSISTENT!  Parenting is a hard enough job, so don’t make it any harder than it needs to be.  I’ll ost our “time out rules” in a later post!

Here’s a good article!  And some highlights from it…

1. Pick your priorities.
2. Brace yourself for a long haul.
3. Write reminders.
4. Time it right.
5. Expect resistance.
6. Don’t try to go it alone.
7. Make a point with wiggle room.

By Request…Past Cricut Projects

Someone wanted to see my past Cricut projects, so here they are!  Well, most of them…as I find more on my computer, I’ll add them to the post.

Random school-ish cuts for the Assistant Principal of the elementary school:

Leaves for the elementary school – they built trees on the wall and put the students names’ on the leaves whenever they achieved whatever it was they were doing:

Made a stamp at the end of the year with the Cricut then stamped it onto Cricut-cut leaves and attached to seed packets for teacher appreciation end of year gifts:

Glass-etched initial glasses wedding gifts (glass etched using Cricut, SCAL, vinyl and etching cream):

Wedding gift bag tag and homemade card:

Palm tree for PTO Bulletin Board:

Name sign/”established” sign (hangs over our bedroom doorway):

SCAL-designed and cut business card holder:

Birthday card:

“Faith-Hope-Love” wall art:

Cricut “bug” logo (used Schoolbook Plantin cartridge) – he’s laminated and hanging on a suction cup in my vehicle:
