{"id":917,"date":"2014-01-01T00:01:43","date_gmt":"2014-01-01T00:01:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christinashaw.com\/?p=917"},"modified":"2014-10-17T18:17:41","modified_gmt":"2014-10-17T18:17:41","slug":"troubleshooting-downloads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/christinashaw.com\/?p=917","title":{"rendered":"Troubleshooting Downloads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are you having issues trying to download? \u00a0Try these troubleshooting steps (in no particular order)!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Close your browser and reopen the browser and try the download again.<\/li>\n<li>Try a different browser (there are lots out there: <a title=\"Download Internet Explorer\" href=\"http:\/\/windows.microsoft.com\/en-us\/internet-explorer\/download-ie\" target=\"_blank\">Internet Explorer<\/a>, <a title=\"Download Firefox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/firefox\/new\/\" target=\"_blank\">Firefox<\/a>, <a title=\"Download Google Chrome\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/chrome\/browser\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chrome<\/a>, <a title=\"Download Safari\" href=\"http:\/\/support.apple.com\/downloads\/#safari\" target=\"_blank\">Safari<\/a>, <a title=\"Download Opera\" href=\"http:\/\/www.opera.com\/computer\/windows\" target=\"_blank\">Opera<\/a>, <a title=\"Download Sea Monkey\" href=\"http:\/\/www.seamonkey-project.org\/releases\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sea Monkey<\/a>, <a title=\"Download SRWare Iron\" href=\"http:\/\/www.srware.net\/en\/software_srware_iron_download.php\" target=\"_blank\">SRWare Iron<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Reboot your computer.<\/li>\n<li>Copy and paste the download link into a new browser tab or window.<\/li>\n<li>Clear your browser&#8217;s <a title=\"How do I clear my web browser's cache, cookies, and history?\" href=\"https:\/\/kb.iu.edu\/d\/ahic\" target=\"_blank\">cache\/cookies\/temp files<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Wait. \u00a0Maybe the network and\/or resource is busy, or maybe the bandwidth maximum has been reached. \u00a0You may have to wait this one out.<\/li>\n<li>Disable any pop-up blockers.<\/li>\n<li>Try a different computer\/device, if possible (even if just to test).<\/li>\n<li>Verify if it&#8217;s just the web site you are downloading from (by using <a title=\"Down for everyone or just me\" href=\"http:\/\/www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">one<\/a> of <a title=\"Down Right Now\" href=\"http:\/\/downrightnow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">these<\/a> <a title=\"Is It Down Right Now\" href=\"http:\/\/www.isitdownrightnow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">sites<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0the individual web site may be experiencing technical difficulties) or all web sites (if it&#8217;s all web sites, then it&#8217;s likely your local network, either your home, your provider or a larger area provider outage).<\/li>\n<li>Does the downloading site require an account\/login? \u00a0If so, make sure you are logged in.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you having issues trying to download? \u00a0Try these troubleshooting steps (in no particular order)!
